Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Julio Pliego collects, uses, discloses, and protects information for this website and the apps that link to this policy, including Olive Food Scanner, USCE, Poinblur, and ScanWithPhone.

If an app store listing or in-app notice provides more specific privacy information for a particular app or feature, that more specific notice controls for that app or feature.

Information we collect

We try to collect only what is needed to operate the apps, provide support, maintain security, and improve reliability. Depending on how you use the website or apps, we may process the following categories of information:

  • Contact and support information, such as your email address, message content, screenshots, receipt details, and any other information you choose to send to support.
  • Device and technical information, such as device model, OS version, app version, diagnostics, crash logs, and general performance information.
  • App content you choose to process, such as food labels, meal images, scanned documents, notes, photos, or educational practice content, depending on the app and feature you use.
  • Purchase status information made available by Apple, such as whether you have an active purchase or subscription. Payment card details are handled by Apple, not by us.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the website and apps.
  • Respond to support, privacy, billing, and safety requests.
  • Debug crashes, fix errors, and protect against abuse.
  • Process content only as needed to deliver the feature you chose to use, such as scanning, OCR, blur, nutrition, or educational feedback features.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms, policies, and platform requirements.

AI, scanning, and sensitive content

Some app features may use automated processing, OCR, image analysis, or AI-assisted analysis. Do not submit sensitive personal information, real patient identifiers, government IDs, financial records, or private medical information unless the feature clearly requires it and you are comfortable doing so.

USCE is intended for clinical skills education and practice. It is not a medical record system and should not be used to store real patient information. Olive Food Scanner is informational and is not medical, nutrition, or dietetic advice.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information only in the following limited situations:

  • Service providers that help operate apps, process support requests, provide analytics, crash reporting, hosting, AI, or infrastructure services.
  • Apple, for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, subscriptions, refunds, app review, and platform services.
  • Legal, safety, or security reasons, including to comply with law or protect users, the apps, and the public.
  • A business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, if applicable.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including support, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. Support emails and related records may be retained so we can respond to follow-up questions and maintain accurate records. You may request deletion as described below.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we maintain about you. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing.

California residents may have rights under California privacy law, including the right to know, delete, correct, and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children

International users

If you use the website or apps from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where service providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws than your country.
